From Carl’s Desk:
October begins the new church year 2016-17. The suggested theme for the new year continues in the Acts 1:8 emphasis by following the progression of life in the 1st New Testament Church Movement- “Tell Someone What Jesus Has Done For You”
Acts Chapters 8, 9, 10.
Acts 8- Deacon/Evangelist Philip telling the Ethiopian Eunuch about the Messiah- Jesus
Acts 9- Ananias sent by the Lord to Saul of Tarsus while in Damascus- Telling about Jesus
Acts10- Peter receiving a vision, then being called to tell Centurion Cornelius & family about Jesus – salvation also available to Gentiles (non-Jewish People)
To compliment the Theme of “Telling What Jesus has done for You”, a suggestion has been given to facilitate every church; yes every believer to Tell Someone:
The 3-1-5-1 Challenge has been given!

Dr. Jim Futral, Executive Director of Miss Baptist Convention wrote:
“I believe that God wants to take every person who knows Jesus and comes to fill our churches week after week; to powerfully engage in sharing the Gospel of Christ to lost people. God wants to speak to us, use us, and bless us to Tell Someone. It could be an overwhelming move of God among us to hear from Him and to be used to speak His word, to be His witness to someone we know needs to know Jesus. The power of God and the transforming grace of Jesus is more relevant than the newspaper one may read in the morning. It tells of old news. What Jesus brings is up-to-date, right where we are presently- giving saving touches of the Lord through individuals, as we ‘Tell Someone What Jesus Has Done’. This is more than a book of acts in the Bible; it is Acts of God among us today!” (Church Design Handbook 2017)
As we live and experience the coming church year, may we regularly Tell Someone What Jesus has done for each us!
